At present, most application service data center is connected to Backbone by sharing between data center port and other servers. In contrast, the optical fiber of Equilibrium’s data center is directly connected to ChinaNet Backbones using optical transceiver, to insure reliable speedy connection. Meanwhile, the data center is a third-party one which realized connection with China Telecom and China Netcom.

A reliable data center needs not only advanced network design and quality equipment, but also other infrastructure such as power supply. In order to insure continuous power supply, Equilibrium adopts two circuit feeding. In case a circuit fails to transmit electricity, the other circuit would automatically take over the job. In addition, the power supply is also secured by intellectual UPS and round-the –clock watching administrators, so to protect the servers from unexpected failure from both technology and administration sides.

To protect data from attack, Equilibrium’s IDC also adopts rigorous security solutions. From technology side, Equilibrium set three-level security in the IDC: 1 Firewalls and Anti-virus software: Checkpoint & CiscoPIX to avoid deliberate invasion; 2 Access control: VPN of Cisco/Checkpoint and VLAN technology control the network access, the customers can access only their own application servers; 3 Invasion inspection system: automatic inspection of each hub & switch port and automatic response to deviant access. From administration side, the IDC is guarded by 24-hour security staff, access control system and 24-hour CCTV system. In addition, all the servers are located in the separated area which is with additional locks and can be entered into only by the Equilibrium-authorized people.
